A single girder bridge crane has one horizontal girder (bridge) that moves on parallel rails. Crane tracks can be mounted on the hall’s consoles or on freestanding pillars, or as under running tracks on the existing trusses of the hall. The maximum load capacity of the single girder bridge cranes is lower than that of double girder designs. However, their structure is lighter and they are still sufficient for most industrial tasks, as they can withstand loads of up to 20 tons.
Advantages of the single girder design
☑️ Wider range on the runway
☑️ Lower structural weight
☑️ High flexibility: suitable for a variety of industrial applications
☑️ Saving space: due to more compact dimensions they are a great choice for locations with lower ceilings or limited space
☑️ Affordable compared to double-girder systems: many operators prefer this design, because it offers optimal performance at an affordable price.
It is available in two basic designs – with a rolled beam or with a welded beam. It is used for handling materials, components and products with the possibility of being placed both indoors and outdoors. Load lifting is provided by a rope or chain hoist from the renowned manufacturer SWF Krantechnik. The crane is powered by a reliable covered plastic busbar running along the track. We can supply rope and chain hoists for special, e.g. explosive environments as required.

Modern overhead single girder cranes are equipped with innovative technologies that improve precision and ease of operation. Electronic monitoring and diagnostic systems contribute to the rapid identification of problems, minimising downtimes. The movement of the crane and hoist is designed to allow smooth starts and stops through speed regulation, enhancing both safety and efficiency when handling loads.
The selection of the appropriate type of overhead crane depends on the specific needs of the operation and therefore we design each of our single girder overhead cranes according to our Customer’s requirements.
